My Short and Sweet Art Resume
I took night art classes while in high school since I had always been inclined toward drawing. After high school I worked for one year in an office and that inspired me to get out of the business world and get serious about art.
I studied for two and a half years at the Art Student’s League of New York with various artists. This was strictly an art school with no academics. I concentrated on oil painting.
After marrying and having my two sons, I continued my art education at the University of Delaware concentrating on printmaking, primarily etching. I was always experimental and did 3 dimensional art pieces using found objects, paint, neon, plastics and whatever I could get my hand on.
I continued with life drawing classes and got a job working for the Delaware State Museum as the staff artist. I was there for 10 years before moving to Arizona.
At the age of 40, my marriage broke up and after a few years, I moved to Tucson, Arizona. Nick is my husband and together, we moved out into the rural area of southern Arizona near the Mexican border.
I became interested in sculpting with clay and 6 years ago I started Cedar Creek Clay works where I sold sculpted tiles both locally and over the Internet, primarily on eBay.
In June, a fire, which destroyed my kiln and most of my tile molds put me out of the tile business, at least temporarily.
Now I have gone back to my painting and am offering prints of many of my paintings here on this site.
I have been in a lot of shows and I’ve sold a lot of artwork, so that is all I feel I need to say about that.
I appreciate your taking the time to have a look at my art. Each one was carefully thought out, and lovingly painted.
Thanks,
Peggy Kane
